Exercise. Make sure to exercise on a daily basis. Get out and walk or run. Play with the kids. Dance or get on a bicycle. It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you let your heart and other muscles work a little once in a while.

Food. You don’t have to be on a diet, but you should think of what you eat and drink. Make sure to include a lot of fruits, vegetables and whole grain food and reduce the sugar and semi-prepared products.

Stress. Find a way to cope with stress in your life. For a lot of people, exercising is a great way to do it. When you are exercising and are fully focused on your own body, you tend to forget all other troubles. During your exercise and about one hour after it, your cortisol (stress hormone) levels are higher than usual, but one day after exercising, your cortisol levels are reduced compare to before the exercise.

Alcohol and tobacco. No smoking and limited drinking is the way to go. You heart will thank you!
